Mindy and Chris' chic, urban rooftop wedding was recently featured on the fabulous Wedding Chicks blog.  And since I am so head-over-heels in love with Mindy and Chris AND their stylish city wedding, I wanted to share more of their delightful wedding here. 

In the words of Wedding Chicks, "Mindy and Chris enjoyed a stylish, urban mid-summer ceremony and reception on the rooftop of The Renaissance Hotel, overlooking downtown Columbus.  Their chic, yet relaxed wedding day was inspired by the urban, rooftop setting and was custom designed by Bliss Wedding and Event Design.  Mindy and Chris wanted to create an upscale cocktail party experience for their guests, infused with sophisticated decor, live music and beautiful urban scenery."

I love small.  Small is so sweet...and peaceful...and just plain heart-warming.  Every so often, I am asked to document an intimate wedding like Jennifer and Phil's. I adore that such small days still deliver such big emotions. 

When Jennifer and Phil first shared their ideas for their Short North wedding day, I was beyond delighted.  They live in the Short North, along with Jennifer's sassy and adorable daughter, Peyton.  Their neighborhood means a lot to them, it's a huge part of their lives and they knew it had to be a part of their wedding day too.  We had such fun documenting their portraits just steps away from their home...places they casually pass every day, that will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

This wedding was also very special to me because it was the first time my new Associate Photographer, Angela, worked with me on her own.  We had such a lovely time together and I'm so very excited for all the amazing artwork we will create together this year!

I never told Jenn, but she reminds me of a dear friend I had many, many years ago.  And I never told her because after getting to know Jenn over this past year, I have the distinct feeling that she makes everyone feel as though they have always known and loved her.  Jenn's warmth, sparkling laugh and genuine compassion are a perfect match for Brendan's quiet attentiveness and gentle strength.  They are in love.  Absolutely.  Truly.  And perfectly. 

And I am in love with them.  Absolutely.  Truly.  And perfectly.

Jenn and Brendan's wedding was the last of our 2009 season, and for that (and many other countless reasons) their wedding will hold a special place in my heart.  In a way, the last wedding of the season feels like a new beginning.  A promise for good things to come...
